Comments: Really enjoyed the site. I'm a former Marine myself, but spent a lot of time working with the Navy. The main reason I found the site was to post this inquiry. My grandfather, MM3 Troy Ferguson, was a shipmate from 44 - 47. I am interested in contacting anyone who may served with and knew him. He died in 1983 and although he was proud of his service, he never talked much about the war. I am doing my family history and any information, photos, or good sea stories would be appreciated.

Comments: I'm searching for my father who was on the USS Mansfield in 1958, his name is Donald Pecor. He was a Class 3 Sonarman. He and my mother had a relationship about 1956 and she became pregnant with me, I was put up for adoption. I found my birth mother that is how I found out about Donald Pecor. She told me the day after she came home from the hospital Donald called her and she told him about me. But she never heard from him again because she told him never to call her again.
I have a blood disorder and I need to find him or his relatives. Can you help me?

I often get that "Lump" in my throat and pain in my heart when I think of the sacrifices that all of our Veterans have made, I just wish that our young adults could be more Educated and aware of how costly freedom is! I am very interested in the getting more info on Operation Just Cause and Operation Black Flag Hopefully you can help me obtain it. Please keep up the Great work your doing!

I now have Peripheral Neuropathy (PN), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), high levels of arsenic in my blood & urine (due to agent blue I believe). The VA just denies all claims except the PTSD, so what else is new. We must unite and fight for our benefits due for the Agent Orange damage done to us all! Comments: This has been a honor to be able to see all of the great ships and especially the one that my daddy was on. The USS Mansfield. He was in WWII, I am not sure of the dates but it was in the early-mid 40's. His name was Homer Guy Minor, and he would have been in his 30's at the time. He would have entered the Navy in Indianapolis, In., but was born in Casey County, Ky, near Danville. It would be so wonderful if I could find someone that knew him. My son, John served in the Navy Seabees from 1981-1986. I wanted to enlist in the Navy but alas, the Recruiter at that time, (1959) was against women being in the Military and wouldn't help me, so was enlisted in the WACs instead.Thank you for your wonderful Sites. All are great with the pics. Keep on and God bless. I will check back often.
Sincerely, A Former WAC

What a coincidence that you would appear on the bridge of the AWR, be an ex-CT, NCVA member and catch me up there also. Comments: I am a usnavy viet nam vet altough none of my four tours were in-country. I had the pleasure to finish a 22 year career. I have been working on a power point presentation concerning the service men and women that served our country in VN. I am looking for pictures from all branches of the service that show what personnel did in VN or while on R&R. It is a presentation that is in constant upgrade. I started it as something I had to do and I have had a lot of help from sites such as yours. The sites are beautiful and full of meaning to those of us that served during that time of our history. Thank You Very Much. Jerry French, LCDR, USN (Ret).

Comments: Refer to my posting of earlier today. Thought I would make a couple of corrections. The GuestBook software dropped part of my name; hopefully all of it will appear with this posting! And on giving it more thought, I believe the initial SECGRU contingent of Marines that landed in Bremerhaven in the Summer of 1956 consisted of about 40 vice 60 Enlisted troops. Captain Allen was the CO and I believe that MSGT Callahan was the 1st Sgt. Many of those Marines were my classmates at CT "R" Branch, Advanced School, at Imperial Beach during the time I was there January - April 1956. CT "R" Branch, Basic Training, was conducted at the Class "A", Radioman School, at NTC San Diego, in those days.
