Bremerhaven - April 29 - May 4, 2002 - Page 2

"I explored around the hotel area on Burger-Meister-Smidt Strasse. They have closed off this street to traffic from the Hotel Naber up to Lloyd Strasse, about 7 blocks. They have totally resurfaced the street and side walks with stone block to form one continuous strip. Over the sidewalks, next to the stores, there is a glass canopy to protect shoppers from the weather. Yes, the weather is the same, mostly cloudy and drizzly during my stay. Horton's building is still standing, but closed. Karstadt is still located across from the old church and is the place to shop. Upstairs, between Karstadt's and the back side of Horton's, there are many small shops. This new shopping "mall" is called "Columbus Center".

Not far from the hotel, at 68 Grazer Strasse, there is an internet shop; "INTERFACE", where, for 3 Euros you can surf the web for 1 hour."
