 The Dirty Dozen +1. We were all stationed in Bremerhaven and were heading for Galeta Island in Panama in early December, 1966. We spent many hours in the Charleston S.C. airport waiting for our flight. During that time, after many, many beers, we dubbed ourselves the Dirty Dozen - probably because of a movie of the same name out about that time. The name stuck and another member was added to make us Dirty Dozen +1. We did have a reunion in 1993 in St. Louis. |
