NAB 1950-51 and Bremerhaven to Zurich, Switzerland Bicycle Trip
"I reported to USNAB Bremerhaven as an RM2 on 4/28/1950 after transportation from my previous duty station, USS Mt. Olympus (AGC-8) via Chesapeake Bay liner to Baltimore, train to Brooklyn and USNS Marurice Rose to Bremerhaven. We operated radio station NGB from a building in the dock area of Columbus Quay. During the period I was there we were transferred to a number of different entities..ie. MSTS Port Office Bremerhaven Germany, USNAB Bremerhaven, Communications unit eight etc. Left Bremerhaven on 2/61951 to go to what was to be only a temporary assignment at MSTS Office Heidelberg, Germany to replace." - Ed DeLong
