I was stationed in Bremerhaven for only 6 months, for future assignment, as many of were in 1966. We left November 25th, 1966. Thirteen of us, the "Dirty Dozen +1", ended up with orders to Galeta Island in the Canal Zone and remained together until late Fall of 1968 when we all got split up. My tour in Bremerhaven was way to short and I loved every minute there. Sleezy's was my-our second home and will never forget the first initiation to the place and the final farewell that night on our way to the train fot the return to Frankfurt.

Our Group were all "R" branch, myself, Terry "Spoon" Wotherspoon, Al Sandusky, Jim Shefield, Carl "Big Y" Young, Ken Laramore, Jack Wisuri, Ed Phipps, George Kelly, Bob "Hud" Hudoba, Chet Childs, Bob Spurlock and Steve Nelson. Would kill for a real Bratwurst like those we got there.
