 This ship, the USS Harry Taylor, assigned to the MSTS (Military Sea Transport Service) transported me from the Brooklyn Naval Yards in New York to Bremerhaven, Germany to begin my two-year tour of duty. I had completed boot-camp and Communications Technician (CT) training in San Diego, CA and advanced R&D training in teletype applications at March AFB, Riverside, CA before being sent to Germany. |
